Dohoon Lee, born on November 17, 1995, in South Korea, is a classical bass vocalist.
He began his vocal studies at Seoul National University under Professors Kwangchul Youn and Kyuhee Cho from March 2014 to February 2018. During his studies, Lee performed the role of the Second Armored Man in "The Magic Flute" In 2015 and was awarded at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Vocal Competition in 2016. After completing his education, he served in the military band from January 2018 to September 2019.
Subsequently, he enrolled in the Opera Master's program at the Berlin University of the Arts under Professor Albert Pesendorfer in April 2022.
In 2023, he performed the roles of Le fauteuil and Un chêne in the opera L'Enfant et les sortilèges at the same university.
His talent was further recognized when he successfully passed the audition for the Vienna State Opera's Young Artists Program in the second half of 2023, securing his position in Vienna for 2024-2026."
Additionally, he was selected as a member of the 2024 Internationale Meistersinger Akademie (IMA) project from July to August 2024. Throughout the month-long project, covered entirely by the IMA scholarship, he will participate in masterclasses with top music professors and opera singers, engage in various auditions, and will start with an opera gala concert with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, followed by a total of five concerts in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz.

The South Korean conductor, composer, pianist, Byungdon Choe is currently continuing his master's degree in conducting at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Harry Curtis and Prof. Steven Sloane. With the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt (Oder), Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Academy Potsdam, Orchestra and Opera Studio of the Komische Oper Berlin, Cottbus State Theater, Magdeburg State Theater, Prussian Chamber Orchestra Prenzlau, Studio Orchestra UdK Berlin, Sinfonietta 92 etc. he gained and deepened his experience as a conductor and assisted Harry Curtis and Steven Sloane at the UdK Symphony Orchestra concerts.
In addition to his work as a conductor, he is also active as a composer, including the premiere of his orchestral work “Music for Orchestra” as part of the “Festival for Symphonic Music 2022” in Seoul Arts Center, and his own orchestral arrangements of Piano Preludes by Debussy with the Brandenburg Frankfurt (Oder) State Orchestra. Having originally started his musical career with piano and violin, Byungdon Choe studied composition. From “Music Academy of Gifted Children at Seoul Arts Center”, and further at Seoul Arts High School, he completed his bachelor's degree in composition at Seoul National University with Prof. Uzong Choe and Prof. Sangjick Jun. (cum laude ) Since his debut as a pianist with Beethoven's first piano concerto at the age of 12, he has frequently played with instrumentalists and singers, chamber music, songs and opera excerpts.
