Ekaterina Bazhanova

The mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Bazhanova began her artistic career in early childhood in the classical vocal quartet. She studied at the HfM »Hanns Eisler« Berlin with Britta Schwarz and Uta Priew, where she successfully completed her degree with the support of the Deutschlandstipendium. In 2017 she was awarded the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation. Already during her studies and afterwards she sung -among others- roles as Olga ("Eugene Onegin"), First Norn ("Götterdämmerung"), voice of Antonia's mother ("Les contes d'Hoffmann"), Ernesto ("Il mondo della luna"), Second Alms Seeker/Second Lay Sister (“Suor Angelica”, Berlin Philharmonic), Composer (“Ariadne auf Naxos”), Biberhahn (“The Atrocious Feast”), Kubus/Willi (“The House Between”), Aci (“Polifemo”) , Judith (“La Betulia liberata”) and Sister Agnes (“Thomas” in Staatsoper unter den Linden). Through numerous projects and master classes, Ekaterina had the opportunity to work with important personalities such as Julia Varády, Robert Dean Smith, Marcel Boone, Wolfram Rieger, Martin Stegner, Michiel Dijkema, Rolf Beck, Tan Dun, Nicola Hümpel, Barbora Horáková, Max Renne, Kirill Petrenko, Simon Rattle.

Marco Heise was raised in a family of musicians and began his musical journey at the tender age of 5 with piano lessons, which was later expanded to include lessons in organ, harpsichord, composition, violin and conducting. From 2023 he will be studying at the University of the Arts in Berlin in various disciplines. During the course of his musical journey, Marco Heise has graced renowned concert halls in Germany, but also in many European countries, the USA, South Africa and South Korea, and took part in numerous master classes and workshops, mainly in the instrumental area, but also in conducting. His repertoire spans a variety of genres, from classical works to contemporary masterpieces, demonstrating a kaleidoscope of artistic expression.
Although the two musicians share the same thoughts about music competitions as Béla Bartók, they are winners of several competitions.
