Soprano

Year of birth:

1993

Soprano Sakurako Tokuda was born in Osaka. She graduated in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in music education.

At  2023 she perfected her studies in Germany at the Hamburg Conservatory.  During her studies she made her debut as a concert singer. So far she  has sung as a soloist in the following works: Esther HWV. 50B (Handel)  as Israelite, Vesperae solennens de Dominica K321 (W.A Mozart), Johannes  Passion BWV.245 (J.S Bach) The Magic Flute (W.A Mozart) as Pamina and  La Bohème (G.Puccini) as Mimi. In 2013 I received 3rd prize at the Pan  Pacific Singing Competition in Tokyo, Japan and in 2019 she was a  finalist at the International Anton Rubinstein Competition in  Düsseldorf, Germany.

From the 2023/2024 season she  will be participating as a choir assistant at the Hamburg State Opera.  From 2021 she will be regularly participating in the Eutin Festival as a  professional choir singer.

Shiotani Chieri

Pianist

Chieri  Shiotani was born in Osaka (Japan) in 1991 and began learning classical  piano at the age of 3. She is a silver prize winner in the ensemble  division of the Aichi Piano Competition. After studying in Japan, she  taught both piano and music education in Osaka and Kyoto. In October  2018 she came to Hamburg to fulfill her strong desire to study abroad in  Germany, which she had had for a long time, and studied piano at the  Hamburg Conservatory, majoring in song accompaniment with Thomas  Grubmüller (piano) and with Knut Schoch (singing).

After  graduating, she enthusiastically continued her studies and performed a  lot as an accompanist. In August and September 2021 she took part in the  German Song Academy in Trossingen. She is currently working as a piano  teacher and choir director of the “Black Rose Gospel” choir in Hasloh.
