Grzegorz Biegas is a renowned Polish pianist, chamber musician, and educator. He completed his training at the Karol Lipiński State Music School in Lublin in the piano class of Prof. Mieczysław Dawidowicz, and at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he earned his diploma in 1995 in the piano class of Prof. Eugeniusz Knapik and in the chamber music class of Prof. Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska. In 2002, he completed postgraduate studies in the piano class of Prof. Józef Stompel.
His artistic activity focuses primarily on chamber music, especially vocal literature. As an outstanding accompanist, Grzegorz Biegas has participated in numerous international singing competitions, including those in Bilbao, Oslo, Karlovy Vary, Vienna, Trnava, Pärnu, Sion, and Warsaw, where his partners frequently won top prizes. He regularly works as a répétiteur and lecturer at masterclasses both in Poland and abroad, collaborating with renowned vocal pedagogues.
For many years, Grzegorz Biegas has been a professor at the Department of Chamber Music at his alma mater in Katowice. He currently holds the position of Vice-Rector (Prorektor) of the Academy. He frequently performs in duos, including with his wife, the soprano Ewa Biegas, with whom he maintains a broad repertoire of songs and chamber music. Grzegorz Biegas is a sought-after juror at international competitions.
